Development of methods for the functional analysis of single cell RNA-seq data (WP3)
Rationale and objectives
Single-cell RNA-seq has been mostly used to dissect the heterogeneity of complex tissues, and more recently to understand cell fate and tumour progression. However, the underlying biology of the single cells is usually not studied, and methods for the pathway analysis using single cell RNA-seq datasets are still to be developed.
There are a number of methodological constrains that need to be address and will be through these objectives:
• To develop approaches for single-cell RNA-seq data imputation that is pathway-aware.
• To develop approaches for pathway enrichment assessment in single cell.
• To implement these methods as part of the Biobam OmicsBox.
