Research project
Development of methods for the functional analysis of single-cell RNA-seq data (WP3)
Rationale and objectives
Although state-of-art computational tools have been developed for clustering cells and identifying marker genes, biological interpretation of the clustering results remains a considerable challenge. This project aims to develop methods for the functional analysis of single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) data.
Following is a brief description of the aims that we seek to achieve during the project:
1) Develop accurate and precise enrichment approaches that integrate various experiment groups with different cell types during functional analysis.
2) Design methods for single-cell data imputations that are pathway-aware.
3) Throughout the project, we will develop the single-cell module of the OmicsBox (BioBam Bioinformatics S.L.); along with that, based on the needs of other ESRs, we will design automated data analysis pipelines and tools.
